Choose installation type

Before continuing, consider which type of install you want to do:

• User settings directory (recommended): This allows you to retain the plugin/application between JMRI version upgrades.
• JMRI program directory: May be overwritten during JMRI version upgrades.

To get the file path for your install choice:

1. From the Panel Pro main window, click on "Help" then click "File Locations."
2. Open the respective file location:
   1. If you want a "user settings" install, click the "Open Settings Location" button.
   2. If you want a "program directory" install, click the "Open Program Location" button.
3. Navigate to the lib directory in your chosen location (if you don't see the lib directory in the respective location, create it).

Download and install the plugin

1. Download the latest Rail Ops plugin
2. Unzip/extract the contents of the zip file that was downloaded.
3. Copy the railops.jar file into the lib directory chosen in the previous section.
4. Check that the plugin is installed by opening PanelPro and going to the "Tools" menu. "Rail Ops" should be at or near the bottom.

Windows Security

If you followed the steps above and the plugin is not appearing in the "Tools" menu of PanelPro, Windows may be blocking it. To resolve the issue:

1. Close PanelPro
2. Navigate to the location of railops.jar
3. Right click the file and go to Properties
4. Click the "Unblock" button near the bottom. Apply and close the window.
5. Re-open PanelPro.

Continue to setup
