Managing API Keys

API Keys allow you to connect third party programs, such as JMRI to your RailOps account. To manage your API keys:

1. Sign into your RailOps account.
2. Click your user avatar in the upper right corner, then click "My Account."
3. In the left sub-navigation, click "API Keys," or scroll to near the bottom of the page.

You'll see a list of any existing API keys and be able to create a new key.

Creating a new key

1. Click the "New API Key" button on the right side of the screen.
2. Enter a short description for your reference.
3. Click "Save."
4. Copy your API key and enter into its destination or save in a secure location.

Revoke (disable) a key

In the event you need to disable an existing key, click the "no" icon in the right column and confirm. The API key is now invalid and cannot be used. This action is irreversible
